What does Skin and Pelvic Health have in common?

It might surprise you to learn that there are quite a few cross-overs between the skin and pelvic health industries.

I have been under the care of Skintifix for 10 years now, and have admired Robyn’s passion, and business ethos from afar.

I love nothing more than being tucked up in one of the Skintifix beds having a facial on a rainy day, so I thought why not extend that to you all!

All new clients of Caitlin Daley Physio are now receiving $50 vouchers for Skintifix!
We deserve self-care, and you’ll be in the best hands with Robyn and her team.

What inspired you to start SkintifiX?
I’ve spent almost two decades helping people understand their skin
SkintifiX began with curiosity, a love for science and with a frustration that too many people were being sold quick fixes, but without the knowledge or skills to truly get there.

I’ve always wanted to know why. Why skin reacts the way it does, why people are sold so much confusion, and why no one was teaching the fundamentals about how skin actually works.

The skin care industry can be confusing and feel like you’re hanging a lot of results on hope that what you’re buying is going to work. I see people hop from product to product, kissing a lot of toads, hoping to find their skin care fairytale.

I want SkintifiX to be your “last first kiss”. When you walk through doors you get that sense of KNOWING you’ve found your skin expert. Blending skin education with spine tingling facials- where you get to shut the world out for a moment, while my team expertly tends to your skin needs.

What is different about your approach?
We start with YOU!
Because once we get to know you, we get a much clearer understanding of your skin. My team will never recommend a product until they truly understand your skin. We respect you and your skin too much to just walk out after a facial and line up a bunch of products and to sell you! Instead, we invite our guests to book a Skin Consultation so that we can make a very informed recommendation on what YOU need. It means no more guess work and hope, but an educated approach to your concerns.

What do you wish more people understood about their skin?

Most people think of skin as something to fix,  but your skin is actually trying to protect you. That’s its entire purpose for being!  Every breakout, flush, or flare is communication, not failure.
I’ve spent the best part of my career learning the language of skin, and love that I can be the ‘go-between’ for people, teaching them how to understand what their skin is trying to tell them, and what products you apply are telling your skin!

When you stop fighting your skin and start listening to it, that’s where the real results happen. Because our expectations of our skin change and we no longer want it to be a glassy, instagram filtered skin, instead a living breathing organ that is the healthiest version of itself and a reflection of your inner beauty.

We teach our clients how to rebuild trust with their skin — and that changes everything.

What does “community” mean to you?

It brings me back to that saying, if you want to go further, go together. In all things, community makes the world of difference. When running a business, it’s vital to be surrounded by people who understand it and to have people you can turn to for advice or an ear. But I think everyone thrives better when they have a connection to something bigger than themselves.
I think we all look for the same thing- to live life with intention and purpose, leaving things better in our place when we leave.
I’ve been a Newy “local” for 25 years now and no matter where I roam, I always come “home” grateful for our town and my community here. I love that we’re all very laid back and at the end of the day, we all want the same things- to live a beautiful life.

What principles guide you when it comes to running a business?

Integrity first, always. In everything from how I employ my team, to how we treat skin.
If it’s not scientifically sound, skin barrier-safe, and genuinely in the client’s best interest, we don’t do it, even if it’s trendy.
The second thing is education. It’s everything to me to be able to have a highly trained team of skin therapists with our number one goal to educate our clients. This empowers them to make great skin choices here or wherever their skin journey takes them.
Lastly- less is more. In an industry that is over saturated and constantly begging you to buy more, we actually encourage clients to buy less. You don’t need to do more to have great skin, you just need to do what’s right for your skin. (and often that means doing less!)

Come with an open mind and leave the “10-step routine” mentality at the door.

How do you manage the balance between being a hands-on therapist, business owner and industry mentor?
My first love is being in the treatment room, looking after clients and creating healthy happy skin, but I also love the variety that comes with running multiple businesses. Between mentoring my team, being an educator to other skin therapists in my industry and founding a charity, I feel I have all bases covered that tickle my fancy!
It can, at times get a bit overwhelming, so I make sure keep my cup topped so I can overflow into others. Newcastle itself does this for me with friendly people and many self care providers to connect with. I keep it simple; walks around our beautiful beaches, swimming in the ocean and great food in our many cafes.
