Mens Health

Men's health Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, plays a crucial role in preparing for and recovering from prostate surgery.

Pre-surgery, physiotherapists educate and train men on pelvic floor muscle activation, which can improve continence outcomes after surgery.

Post-surgery, physiotherapy focuses on regaining bladder and bowel control, sexual function, and overall physical conditioning.

Key Benefits of Men's Health Physiotherapy:

  • Faster Continence Recovery:

Pre-surgery pelvic floor training has been shown to speed up the rate of regaining bladder control after surgery.

  • Improved Sexual Function:

Strengthening pelvic floor muscles can positively impact sexual function and address erectile dysfunction.

  • Enhanced Quality of Life:

By addressing incontinence, pain, and other potential side effects, physiotherapy can significantly improve a man's overall well-being and ability to return to normal activities.

  • Reduced Risk of Complications:

Early intervention and a structured rehabilitation program can help minimize the impact of surgery and reduce the risk of long-term complications.

Steph has done additional training in Mens Health Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, and can provide appointments from Waratah and Toronto clinics.
